International advanced training course on GIAHS (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems) for the resilience evaluation in three different socio-environmental and bio-cultural frameworks Africa, Asia and Latin America
The Italian Cooperation launched recently a project “Building Capacity: international advanced training course on GIAHS (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems) for the resilience evaluation in three different socio-environmental and bio-cultural frameworks: Africa, Asia and Latin America”.
The project aims at promoting the conservation of traditional agricultural landscapes, and specifically to spread the knowledge and presence of GIAHS sites in Italian Cooperation Priority Countries.
In this context a master course is foreseen to take place in Italy (University of Florence) over three years providing a total of 54 scholarships for personnel of Ministries, Local NGOs, Academics and Entrepreneurs.
From January to June 2019 the first master course for GIAHS professionals will be held in Florence and Prato (Italy), at the University of Florence. For details on the course structure: https://www.agriculturalheritage.com/structure-of-the-master-course/ .
For this edition, a total of 18 scholarships will be available for professionals coming from the following countries: Albania, Bolivia, Bosnia, Cuba, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Myanmar, Senegal and Tunisia.
The scholarships will cover all costs (travel, accommodation, etc).
The ideal candidate is no more than 35 years old, holds an MSc in agriculture or related disciplines and has a working experience in the field of landscape conservation and rural development, preferably in the public sector. Women are encourage to apply. A good knowledge of English is essential.
